Welcome! I’m Matt Delaney, and I’m truly grateful to share my love of coffee, Rock ’n’ Roll, and, of course, Humbucker pickups with you.

My obsession with rock music started back in middle school, when my world opened up with the sounds of Steve Miller, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Blue Öyster Cult, and the Grateful Dead. Not long after, another passion hit me just as hard—on a trip to the Big Island of Hawai‘i, where I tasted fresh-picked, hand-roasted Kona coffee for the very first time. It was lightning in a cup, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Those two loves, great-tasting specialty coffee and great-sounding guitars, set me on a path I’ve been following ever since.

I was fortunate to begin my coffee career under the legendary Erna Knutsen in San Francisco—the woman who coined the term “Specialty Coffee” in 1974. During my ten years working with her as Vice President of Sales, I traveled to coffee-growing regions around the world, building relationships with farmers and sourcing some of the finest small-lot coffees on the planet.

Eventually, I launched my own roasting company, and the journey keeps evolving with Matt’s Humbucker Coffee. Today, I partner with some of the world’s best importers and roasters to bring you a rotating lineup of exceptional coffees—beans that are carefully sourced, expertly roasted, and selected to deliver the best flavors they have to offer.
